About the Role
We are currently seeking a Head of Health and Safety to lead the design and delivery of robust frameworks that protect our people, customers and operations globally. The role will provide governance and assurance to the Executive team and Board, ensuring the highest standards in travel risk management, duty of care and regulatory compliance across all activities.
Principal Accountabilities
Lead the development and ongoing improvement of the organisation’s global travel risk and health & safety strategy, ensuring exceptional duty of care.
Provide expert oversight of travel risk intelligence, incident response, escalation and post‑incident review, working closely with Duty Office and Customer Relations teams.
Ensure compliance with UK and international health & safety legislation, maintaining robust policies, frameworks and a Travel Safety Management System.
Lead audits, inspections and risk assessments across head office and supplier operations, driving continuous improvement and supplier compliance.
Design and embed training, guidance and reporting tools that promote proactive risk awareness, near‑miss reporting and a strong safety culture.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board, leading a small team and matrix‑managing across Operations, Commercial, Legal and People functions.
Required Experience
Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior travel risk or H&S leadership role.
Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and Package Travel Regulations and international standards (e.g., ISO 31030).
Experience designing or implementing formal Safety Management Systems
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience reporting at Executive or Board level
Desirable:
NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
Experience working with franchise models or remote teams.
